Day 5!
It's almost impossible to even begin to describe how GOOD I feel right now. I can't believe this is only day five of the challenge. It's going by very quickly and each day I seem to feel better than the last. I've gotten so used to what I need to be eating and my body is definitely responding! Two Saturdays ago was the last time I had an alcoholic drink...and I think that has a huge part to do with this. I have absolutely no desire to even mess up that stretch because I've never felt so refreshed/cleansed (maybe this is why they call the first 10 days of the challenge the cleansing phase:)). And holy moses am I going to enjoy that first glass of wine when I finally reach my goal weight of 145-150. I still have a lot of work to do, but I truly feel like I can do it.
Here is a picture of what I looked like when I weighed that much (far left), and I felt so good about myself... We were on a houseboat trip with the whole family, I believe I was 19. Those other hotties are my sisters, who still look smokin' hot. Time for me to catch up with them!! Middle sister just had a baby five months ago and is probably even smaller now than she was in this picture! Cait, on the right, is a rockin' nurse in Seattle who has always taken care of herself and looks great! These two are my best friends and I love them to pieces <3!!
This gives me so much motivation because I know it is possible to look like that again :) Things started to go downhill after my highschool "sweetheart" and I broke up. I partied too much and had a "I don't give a shit about anyone but myself" attitude. That didn't get me far. I'm happy that I had that experience though because it has made me a better person today. Through that heartache I met the love of my life & I'm grateful for that. Sidenote: Thank you to my family & close friends for putting up with me...I know I was a bit much to deal with :) xoxo..
On a brighter note, my sister works with someone at the hospital who is into Advocare, and I think next week sometime the three of us are meeting up to talk. I am 100% open to talking to anyone who knows more about all of this than I do. My success will go up with support and more information!
Today has been a great day. I woke up at my sister's house and got to play with Crosby all morning. He just melts my heart! I then went up to my parent's house to relax for a little bit before we headed up to Cashmere to a family reunion type deal. The Simpson Family (aka my family) is being honored this weekend at the Founder's Day Parade. It was so great to meet distant relatives and be back in Cashmere. My Grandma is amazing and it's always special to see her in her element, introducing me to everyone and looking so happy.
For lunch today I made a meal replacement shake (through Advocare) and some brussels. I've always been skeptical of brussel sprouts but my brother-in-law Heath changed that opinion of mine...cooked with a little olive oil, salt and pepper (and ususally topped with parmesean cheese, but I can't have that right now...) makes them taste delicious!
Today is a perfect Saturday, I'm probably going to head over to Jeremiah's house to hang with Heidi and the kiddos later on. Excited for Shaun to come home from Ritzville tomorrow, but I am happy he got to go spend some time on his Grandparent's ranch doin' what boys love to do. I'm sitting on my couch right now realizing how quiet it is without both my boys here. (Not complaining!) Speaking of boys, I better throw in a picture of my absolutely adorable, crazy, loving, bearded, sweet, rambo, and so much more PUPPY. Meet Griffin... (or as Jeremiah's 15 month old baby says "GIBBY!!")
Shaun and I love this little dude so much, it's pretty ridiculous! <3
Have a great weekend everyone, I sure am!
